The newly released playlist is recommended for true crime enthusiasts and those who study serial sexual rapists and murderers. David Parker Ray is suspected to have raped, tortured, and murdered around 50 women across America, despite no bodies being found. He was arrested in 1999 after one of his victims escaped from his trailer after three days of captivity.

Ray became known as the Toy Box Killer because he had soundproofed his trailer and called it his “toy box” to curious outsiders. Inside, however, was his playroom where he would sexually torture kidnapped women for days while filming them. In between tortures, Ray would lock them in a small cabinet.

Forensic experts believe that after Ray was done with his victims, he would either kill them or drug them with hard drugs to induce amnesia.

Ray was convicted of kidnapping and torture in 2001 after one of his victims began remembering snippets of her time in the toy box. The victim was a friend of Ray’s daughter and she was contacted by the police after finding a video of her strapped on a table, with her leg tattoo clearly shown.

Although she did not initially remember what had happened to her, she started remembering certain parts of her torture, which helped in convicting Ray of torture and kidnapping.

The magnitude of Ray’s crimes, as well as the evidence unearthed during the investigation, made his case a national story. Police found a recording that Ray would play to his victims, detailing exactly what he was going to do to them. Snippets of this recording are now available for streaming on Vurbl.

The new playlist is part of Vurbl’s mission of providing unique audio files to anyone around the world. The service is free.
