The Society for the Advancement of Hormones and Healthy Aging Medicine Malaysia (SAHAMM) announces the 3rd module in their Nutritional Certification & Advanced Course. Module 3 (out of 6) will stress the active role of metabolism and the importance of proper nutrition in the prevention of disease. The course is created with the intent to give active medical practitioners an extra tool in their never-ending battle for better health.

This course was developed in partnership with the Australian College of Medical Nutrition. Thanks to their expertise, participants will achieve a better understanding in the following fields of nutritional medicine: physiology of glucose regulation, amending common health disorders through dietary and nutrient modulation, understanding the physiopathology underlying diabetes & metabolic syndrome.
The goal of this course is also to identify the nutritional causes of underlying cardiovascular disease, devise nutrition-based clinical protocols to improve diabetes and cardiac health as well as recognizing common allergies and treatments. The lecturers in this module of the training are all certified professional with decades of experience in their respective medical fields, ranging from dermatology to gynecology.
The following team of established medical practitioners will be holding the lectures: Datuk Dr. Selvam Rengasamy, Dr. Ashley Berry, Dr. Karel Hromek, Dr. Baljit Singh Kaulsay MD and Dr. Sangeet Kaur. More details about the lecturer’s credentials can be found on the course website.
SAHAMM & the Australian College of Medical Nutrition offer an examination for 2 independent nutritional certification courses. The first one is the Certification and Masters Program in Nutritional Medicine and the second one is the Nutritional Certification Advanced Program (Fellowship). Both programs consist of 6 modules. The module offered in September is the last one for this year, followed by Modules 4, 5 & 6 in March, June, and September in 2019.
This part of the course will take place at Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel, which was chosen in order to provide good accessibility for all participants. The hotel is located 45 minutes away from the KLIA airport and a 15-minute drive from downtown Kuala Lumpur. Special room rates are available for participants of the nutritional certification course from September 6th to 8th. Reservation details are given on SAHAMM’s website.
