Opened in early September 2017, the original school, which educates up to 500 students, is the brainchild of Sachin Rathi, an MBS student at Monash University, Melbourne, in the early 2000s worked part-time while studying. Sachin Rathi was passionate about marketing, travelled across Australia selling security alarms at early stages of his career.

Sachin Rathi entrepreneurship journey started when he acquired “Time Telecom ” a Canberra-based company in 2008, which had a phenomenal growth from 300 customers to 33,000 in 3.5-years. In 2012, the company was sold to an ASX-listed business “M2 Telecom”.

Sachin Rathi then went on to develop several more companies in other verticals before turning his attention back to his heartland, India and helping the underprivileged believing that poverty can be reduced, if not, eliminated by providing good education.

Sachin Rathi, who talks about the importance of having a good education, believes that the underprivileged have the same rights to an education as the privileged. As such, Sachin Rathi made it his goal to revive the Rathi Navjeevan school built in 1950 by his grandfather, Sri Devkishanji Rathi.

New school building, which launched in September 2017, comprised of 15 classrooms, a kitchen, library, and a sports facility and a play ground for them to play, making it an ultramodern facility. As such, the kitchen is solar powered. Plus, it supported the district via better education and to empower children to create productive lives as adults.

Sachin Rathi Melbourne, whose core belief is to help those in need and that everyone should have the opportunity to have access to a good education, has upgraded the facility further since its opening.

When asked about the new facility Sachin Rathi said, “We have moved on to a bigger and better facility, which is now on 20,000 square feet of land. We strategically built this school in a regional area to ensure more students can gain access to it. We all have the social responsibility of giving back. Giving is not just about making donations, it’s also about making a difference by inspiring one community at a time, one student at a time. We are currently educating 500 students. We make sure that each and every one of them get the proper education they need but at the same time instil in them the importance of charity to pay it forward.”

The new school, built to continue supporting the local community and to improve the area’s economic outlook in the coming years, receives support from the Rathi family – brothers Anand, Narayan, and Sachin – investors in better futures for all.

Inspired by their ancestors – the late Shri Satyanarayan Rathi, Shri Maniklal Rathi and Shri. Devkishan Rathi – the new school will provide education for children that would usually go without any formal learning. Therefore, the school will teach basic education to children of all ages.

When asked about the school programme, the Sachin Rathi said, “We brothers – Anand Rathi, Narayan Rathi, and Sachin Rathi are very proud to be part of such a wonderful programme. We see this as an opportunity to give children living in poverty an educational opportunity. One that may allow them to be influencers in the future.”
