Lotus Ministry Trust is partnering with local NGOs and government agencies on the ground to ensure communities receive nutritious, culturally appropriate meals. In addition to regional staples, the packages include cooking oil and local spices for flavor and extra nutrition.
“One of our food relief projects in Dhaka incorporated pitha, a traditional Bangladeshi cake, during the winter season,” a trust spokesperson said. “With this gesture, we knew we were bringing warmth and comfort to many residents who were struggling to bridge the gap between survival and living.”
Lotus Ministry Trust works exclusively with reputable suppliers to source ingredients and follows rigorous safety standards during the packaging and distribution processes. The team also makes regular inspections of package safety and nutrition.
The packages are distributed through a network of local volunteers and partners who have in-depth knowledge of the areas that most need assistance and how to access them.
So far, Lotus Ministry Trust’s food relief initiative has reached over 100,000 individuals across Bangladesh. The charity plans to raise that number by 50,000 by establishing more distribution centers and upgrading its logistical capacities. In addition to food relief, Lotus Ministry Trust is exploring projects to provide clean water access and educational support.
“While there is always more that can be done, there is no doubt that we are making a significant impact,” a trust spokesperson said. “We are fortunate to have volunteers and staff from all walks of life who bring their unique expertise and resources into everything we do. This is what enables us to achieve our goals year after year.”
