Five of six Manhattan Supreme Court jurors discovered that the former New York gubernatorial candidate Warren Redlich “failed to prove by a fair preponderance of the credible evidence” that Stone sent out mailers calling him a sexual predator.
“The evidence wasn’t strong enough,” the forewoman said following the verdict was announced.
Stone ran Manhattan Madam Kristin Davis’ campaign in 2010 while Redlich was on the Libertarian line.
“This victory is extremely gratifying and reinforces my faith in the fundamental fairness of our jury system and in the capacity of our judicial system to repel those who would deceitfully abuse it as a tool for political vendettas,” Stone told the media.
Redlich said he was “disappointed” with the verdict but would not appeal.
