San Francisco-based, Mumbai-born author, Reenita Hora is on a mission to spread love through inclusivity. Having recently launched a new fictional genre called “chapter by episode” which tells a single story over a series of podcasts, Hora attempts to highlight the challenges that many people still face today when it comes to their color and race.

Called, “Shadow Realm”, the new podcast follows the journey of Arya, an Indian teenager who is tormented by demons. The heart-wrenching and inspiring coming-of-age story talks about modern-day issues and how Arya learns to eventually accept himself and thrive in society. The tale is expertly weaved with magic surrealism mixed with reality so that each episode reads like a fairy-tale with a moral at the end.
The newly launched podcast, which began in October of this year, expands the impressive portfolio of the well-respected author and executive producer. Currently, Hora has written five non-fiction books: ‘Inner Beauty’, ‘Ayurveda’, ‘The Ancient Medicine of India’, ‘Forever Young: Unleashing the Magic of Ayurveda’, and ‘Money Smart’. She has also authored two young adult novels: ‘Operation Mom: How I got my Mother and Life and a Man’, and ‘When Arya Fell Through the Fault’.
Known for her unique prose that is inspiring and practical, Hora is hailed by critics to be a literary force to be reckoned with. She combines her experiences as an Indian woman living in the United States with her love for ancient tales and mythology to craft stories that can be enjoyed by the young and old alike. Hora writes, “Born and raised in Bombay, I grew up in a classic ‘Bhel Puri’ culture. One in which the end product tastes only as good as the sum of its parts meshed together with a bug or two for good measure. And since Bhel Puri only intensifies with complexity, I unleash my inner creativity through a variety of story forms.”
