Toronto, Ontario, December 11, 2014. Free secure remote computer file access, encrypted file sharing and private music, movie and video streaming is now a reality for iPhone, Android, Windows, iOS and Linux users via leading edge data virtualization technology incorporated in today’s release of Qnext Social Edition.
Patented Qnext technology virtualizes data locations allowing users to access, share and stream files using any device, wherever they are stored. Now from a single dashboard, users have access and file sharing from computers, public cloud storage (such as Google, Dropbox, OneDrive and Box) FTP, network attached storage (NAS) and smart WiFi routers. Qnext Social Edition leverages Facebook for contact management and allows users to share files of any type and size with their Facebook friends securely.
“As people use more than one personal computing device, the old paradigm of device centric data where files are stored on the personal computer is being replaced with data continuity,” said Anthony DeCristofaro, president and CEO of Qnext. “Using Qnext, files are available to users no matter where they are or what device they are using.”
Qnext virtualization of data locations creates a private network allowing files to be accessed, shared and streamed from the source locations where they are stored. There are no caps on storage because users can have as many files and storage locations as they like and any size or type of file, including executable files (.exe and .dmg) can be shared with any authorized Facebook friend. The technology satisfies even the most robust demands of multimedia files such as videos, movies and photos and enables users to privately stream their media collections to either their mobile devices or to the devices of their Facebook friends.
For increased security and privacy there are no uploads to servers and no information is uploaded or stored by Facebook, Qnext or any middleman. SSL encryption is utilized to make sure that data in transit is protected. Files are transferred at their original quality, which is ideal for high-resolution multimedia files.
Furthermore, the technology addresses issues of fragmentation of information, lack of storage space, complex user interfaces and the use of multiple apps and devices to access and share from multiple storage locations.
The production release of Qnext Social Edition incorporates feedback from beta release users collected from focus groups and comments. Improvements include the ability to stream or let friends stream music, movies and videos to a mobile device; simplified installation; improved workflow and an updated setup process.
Qnext Social Edition will be followed in Q1 2015 by a for-purchase personal edition that will leverage Outlook and Gmail for contact management and a business edition that will also include a management console and enterprise level tracking and auditing of app activity.
Qnext Social Edition file access, sharing and streaming is available for download from Google Play, the Apple App Store, Facebook, Amazon, Samsung, LG Smartworld or directly from the Qnext web site.
