Process Parameters UK started off on the weekend with the release of their new range of IR Temperature Sensors. Unless you’ve lived under a rock, you ‘re not going to be a stranger to Infrared technology and its advancements over the years. One of these advancements is the use of Infrared as a temperature sensor. IR Temperature sensors emit a concentrated infrared energy beam to the surface, and the reflected beam is then returned to the sensor, which converts the energy to an electrical signal that can be displayed in temperature units.
What this range of brand new products are designed to bring to the user is a German-made optical pyrometer that is at a much lower than normal cost making it in turn more suitable for most OEM processes and applications. Various models are designed for specific applications, such as plastic films, glass and metals. No more compromise with “general purpose” infrared temperature sensors.
The CSmicro series of the infrared thermal sensor is the evolution of the CS, with a miniature sensing head that is one of the smallest in the world, only 14 mm OD x 28 mm long. The electronics are securely housed in a housing mounted on an extension cable measuring only 35 mm x 12 mm, which also has an LED that is useful for providing information about the sensor during use.
With the CSmicro IR sensor, Process Parameters can offer a wider range of measurements up to 1600 ° C and a higher ambient operating temperature for the sensing head up to 180 ° C without additional cooling. Combined with high-quality optics with small spot sizes, the CSmicro IR temperature sensor is an extremely versatile group of sensors that can be easily configured using the optional USB interface and the Compact Connect software.
