Pride Mark Homes has donated to the Town of Webster NY, 84 acres of natural open space for residents to use. The land transfer is part of an agreement for the rezoning of Arbor Creek Townhomes.

Pride Mark Homes purchased the 118-acre parcel of land in 2014. At the time of purchase the land was zoned single family use and Pride Mark required rezoning to create Arbor Creek Townhouse Community. The acquisition of 84 acres by the town of Webster NY on November 14, 2018 was an agreement between the town of Webster and Pride Mark Homes to donate 84 acres, to rezone the property from single family homes to townhouse use. Arbor Creek Townhomes is located near the corner of Salt Road and State Road in Webster New York.

Arbor Creek is a luxury community with townhomes for sale. There are 116 ranch style homes with 2 car garages and a clubhouse for residents to enjoy. Pride Mark Homes states that they are currently building townhomes in Section III and taking reservations for Section IV.

Four Mile Creek runs diagonally through the property and backs up to Arbor Creek Townhomes on Creekfield Drive. Although the land is mostly wetlands and will be used to provide extra flood storage capacity for the town. The town supervisor, Ron Nesbit believes that the land has potential for a future park or trails for the residents of the town of Webster to enjoy.

“We can make some trails out of it and make it nice,” Ron Nesbitt said. “We’ve got 29 miles of trails, we’re very proud of those, but to have some on the east side of town would be very nice.”

Halbert Harris, former president of the volunteer group Friend of Webster Trails, said the group will be taking a look at the property and coming up with a plan for it next spring. “It’s kind of a win-win, I think, to keep it as open space,” Harris said. “Looking at the topographic maps, it’s a lot of wetlands, open marsh. It’s an opportunity for local people.”

“The open space is something both Arbor Creek residents and all Webster residents will get to enjoy forever,” said Jim Barbato, president of Pride Mark Homes. “As a developer, it was kind of nice to go in and preserve a lot of open space and a lot of wild life,” said Jim Barbato. “It’s not just somebody’s land that hasn’t been developed yet. It’s really open space that remains that way.”
