Accommodates Groups Of Up To 10; Bride & Groom Enjoy 2 Night Stay at Luxury B&B

Thinking of downsizing your wedding into a simple, luxurious elopement? Consider Portland’s White House, a critically acclaimed bed & breakfast and event venue set in a historic Greek Revival mansion located in the Irvington neighborhood. Its Elopement Packages include a simple ceremony followed by a reception where wedding cake (made locally) and Champagne for up to 10 guests is served. (Couples may opt for a more elaborate affair with either a small banquet or sit-down lunch paired with wines.) The bride & groom also enjoy a two-night stay in one of its elegant ensuite rooms.

The introduction of Elopement Packages comes on the heels of the historic venue’s debut of Zoom Weddings, where couples limit the number of actual guests to 10 but allow hundreds of virtual guests to watch them exchange vows thanks to the popular Zoom app, a web-based video conferencing tool.

Portland’s White House underwent an extensive remodel of both the main and carriage houses with the intent of restoring it to its former glory. In total, there are 9 large ensuite bedrooms. In addition, the mansion has a grand foyer distinguished by a hand-painted mural and a sweeping staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms. The main floor also features a living room with a grand piano, game room, commercial kitchen, private office and dining room where breakfast is served each morning. Downstairs is an 85-seat ballroom for larger scale events.

Portland’s White House was built in 1911 for Oregon timber baron Robert Lytle, who spared no expense on its construction. He made it fire resistant with metal lath and plaster and tile roofs then carefully installed the very finest materials including Povey Bros. stained glass, known as “The Tiffany of the Northwest.”
