It was just 3 years ago that WildFire CrossFit decided to open its doors to Phoenix, giving fitness a whole new meaning. In such a crowded world of weight loss tricks and fitness gimmicks, WildFire has figured a way around the nonsense to create lasting results for their clients while building an amazing fitness community.
These days most people know what CrossFit is and it’s become somewhat of a house hold name. That wasn’t the case when WildFire opened up a gym, or “Box” as it’s called in the CrossFit world. Functional fitness was about to hit the streets of North Phoenix, both literally and figuratively.
When asked how they got started Owner Skip Divelbiss says: “It was tough, we had no students at all. So we decided to let people come for free to check out what we were all about. Our main goal was to have just a few students that first week and we ended up with nearly a dozen.”
Over the past three years WildFire has grown from a handful of students to helping hundreds of people reach their fitness goals. On top of that they’ve been able to partner with local businesses to help get their entire companies fit.
Skip says: “That first year was a rollercoaster of ups and downs but we started to create more than just a business, we were creating a community of likeminded fitness people that ranged from elite athletes to somebody who hadn’t touched a weight in years. That’s what was so special, everybody was helping each other reach their goals.”
What does the future hold for WildFire CrossFit: “We’re so excited to be able to do what we love to do each and every day. We’ve added new class times, new classes and even held our first CrossFit competition this year. The sky’s the limit.
