Doctors have recently announced new testing that can help detect signs of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) earlier and with greater accuracy. “In some situations, the fact that a person has a traumatic brain injury after a fall or a car accident is evident,” Matthew G. Miller, a personal injury attorney in Omaha from Matthew G. Miller, PC, LLO says, “but that isn’t always the case. Sometimes, the symptoms won’t manifest themselves for weeks, months or even years.”
New methods of detection and treatment have been making the news. Earlier this year, the United States Navy revealed that they found new and innovative ways to test for brain injuries in servicemen who were involved in explosions and other battlefield traumas to the head. These recently developed therapies can detect and treat nerve damage which often leads to future more severe complications in the brain.

While these findings are signs that medical technology is heading in the right direction, many are still in testing mode themselves.
“Until these tests have been proven and are readily available to the general public if you think you have been a victim of a head injury, it is important to monitor yourself for any symptoms. However, it is vital that you be evaluated by a doctor,” Omaha personal injury attorney Miller warns. “If someone is dizzy, frequently tired, forgetful, or seems to be acting differently than they were before the accident, they should seek immediate medical attention.”
