Let It Grow, Ohio launched its new brand and website earlier this month. The company was founded in an effort to promote marijuana legalization and to raise awareness of Issue 2 and Issue 3 on the ballot in Ohio on November 3, 2015. T-shirts and hoodies supporting marijuana legalization and bearing the brand name may be purchased on the site as well.
If passed, Issue 3 will legalize the medical and personal use of marijuana for persons who are 21 years of age or older in the state of Ohio. The growth and cultivation of marijuana will be limited to a monopoly of ten pre-determined, specific “grow sites” situated throughout the state. The sites already have designated investors.
Issue 2 would limit writing a monopoly into the state constitution. It would also prevent the initiative process from being used for personal economic benefit.
Therefore, the two issues conflict with one another. It is unclear what will happen if both issues pass.
Let It Grow, Ohio shares information about Issue 2 and Issue 3 via Facebook, Twitter, and on their blog. They also provide other marijuana-related information, news articles, and items of interest through these forums.
On September 23, 2015, individuals representing the company attended Marijuana: Ohio Decides, a town hall at Sinclair Community College in Dayton. The event was sponsored by the Dayton Daily News, WHIO Radio, Newscenter 7 and the League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area.
Although the company supports marijuana legalization, it does not take an official stance on the ballot issues but rather seeks to provide information that will better inform Ohio voters.
For a limited time, individuals who register on the company’s website will receive a coupon for a discount on their first order, as well as being entered in a contest to win a free t-shirt.
