NJ based epoxy flooring contractors, High Performance Systems, have completed installation of new kitchen flooring at the soon to be opened Texas Jack’s Barbecue in Arlington, VA. Texas Jacks Barbecue is a 145-seat restaurant and bar that has taken over the space formerly occupied by Tallula/EatBar. The new eatery hopes to be serving its’ delicious and varied barbecue styles by the end of September.
Partner Steve Roberts, who named the restaurant after real-life cowboy and actor Texas Jack Omohundro, chose High Performance Systems as his epoxy flooring contractor after researching them online. He found the company had a lot of experience installing restaurant kitchen floors across the country and decided to put his faith in them. The company installed a urethane cement flooring system for the restaurant that will be durable, easy to maintain and safe for their employees. A floor head chef and pitmaster Matt Lang will be sure to love.
Matt Lang, formerly of Fette Sau in Brooklyn and Hill Country in D.C. and the 2011 winner of the Food Network barbecue show, Best in Smoke, has been selected as the executive chef. He will be preparing smoked offerings that include Brisket, Beef Short Ribs, jerked goat, Pulled Pork and more traditional dry-rubbed brisket and sausages as well as weekly specials. Matt will be joined by another Hill Country veteran, Remzi Yilmaz who will be serving as beverage director and assistant general manager. Remzi is the force behind the bar’s selection of local craft brews, fine keg wines and bourbon cocktails.
The restaurant is located only five blocks from the Clarendon Metro, and is accessible on the Orange Line. Their hours will be Monday through Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. The kitchen will close at 1 a.m., one hour before the bar closes.
