Acclaimed Tidewater Golf Club Headlines Coastal Escape Package
CHERRY GROVE, S.C. — Myrtle Beach is home to golf’s best package deals and the area’s latest offer, the “Coastal Escape,” combines the Grand Strand’s legendary value with one of South Carolina’s premier courses.
A 2-night, 3-round offer, the Coastal Escape package starts at $276 per player and is highlighted by Tidewater Golf Club, one of Myrtle Beach’s top 3 courses. Golfers can also choose among Arcadian Shores, Azalea Sands, Beachwood, Brunswick Plantation, Cape Fear National, Eagle Nest and the East and West courses at the Pearl.
Tidewater is renowned for its natural beauty, highlighted by four holes that play along Cherry Grove Inlet, which feeds into the nearby Atlantic Ocean. The course’s third and 12th holes are the Myrtle Beach area’s prettiest pair of par 3s, both playing along the inlet. The fourth hole, a gentle dogleg left that buffets the water, is among the most scenic par 4s in all of golf-rich South Carolina, while the par 5 13th offers a distant view of Cherry Grove emptying into the Atlantic Ocean.
Five holes also bring the Intracoastal Waterway into play, enhancing the visuals on a layout PGA professionals voted as Myrtle Beach’s third best course. Tidewater, which will be celebrating its 30th birthday next year, has been ranked among America’s top 100 public layouts and long been regarded as among the most scenic courses in the Southeast.
Arcadian Shores, Rees Jones’ first solo design, is one of Myrtle Beach’s top 20 courses, and Cape Fear National, a Tim Cate design just outside of Wilmington, are outstanding layouts. Brunswick Plantation and the courses at Pearl, which plays along the Calabash River, deliver memorable holes and Eagle Nest is the longest course in the Carolinas.
