People who are considering dental implants looking for the latest information on dental implants can register to attend Dental Implant Seminar scheduled for 9/20/17.
A dental implant is a titanium replacement for a root of a tooth that is surgically implanted in the jawbone.
If a person is missing one or more teeth, they will learn from the seminar about replacements that look natural, feel secure and are comfortable.
When a dentist inserts the implant device into the jaw, a chemical and mechanical bond is formed. The jawbone actually grows into the implant.
Most dental implants placed today are endosteal root form fixtures (similar to a man-made tooth root).
As the body heals for approximately two to six months after the surgery, the bone around the implant fuses to the implant through a process called osseointegration.
After the healing phase is complete, the implants are now ready to have the crown, bridges, or dentures placed.
The length of the healing time is based on the quality and quantity of bone, as well as the type of implant placed.
After adequate healing, the implant can be used to support a crown, bridge, or denture.
