The New Jersey home care agency has announced its new protocols and procedures for helping people during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis which is causing many families to have concerns and challenges with senior care issues.
Expert Home Care is one of the largest, exclusive providers of live In-home health care services in New Jersey and has been in operation since 1985. They are state-licensed, accredited, bonded and insured and offer registered nurses to supervise their caregivers on a periodic basis to ensure the best possible care for loved ones.
The newly updated services include ensuring one-to-one care from the same caregiver seven days per week to greatly reduce the risk of virus exposure, which an hourly caregiver coming and going every day could be more prone to do. This continuity of care also helps the caregiver to get to know the patient and their routines.
Further announced procedures added by Expert Home Care include transporting the caregiver directly to the patients’ door and conducting a pre-screen for the caregiver, which includes a temperature check prior to meeting the patient. This screening includes a body temperature check and Expert Home Care will not permit the caregiver to proceed to the job assignment if they do not pass the screening.
Expert Home Care of NJ additionally screen any new caregivers as well as clients with important questions to ensure the safety of everyone they come into contact with. The questions, based on CDC recommendations, include asking if they have had any symptoms of illness, if they or anyone they live with has traveled abroad recently, and if anyone they live with has had any of the symptoms of Covid-19 or has tested positive for the virus.
Assigned live-in caregivers are also able to monitor for symptoms of a patient every day, checking body temperature as well as noting and reporting any changes right away. All of Expert Home Care’s New Jersey caregivers will continue to follow universal precautions at all times and continue to self-assess and monitor their own health and report any changes to the agency immediately.
Their newly announced services are available as both short-term and long-term options with no long-term contracts or commitments during the Covid-19 crisis. A spokesperson for Expert Home Care said that they can give people peace of mind knowing that their loved one is safe at home with a full-time live-in caregiver, allowing them to continue to deal with this crisis and its demands with quality visits with their loved one with proper precautions.
The New Jersey home care agency has specialized in live-In care since 1985 and has won the award for “Best of Home Care” from Home Care Pulse for 10 consecutive years. Additionally, they are A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau of NJ and are accredited by the National Institute for Home Care Accreditation.
