This Fall, Pro-Care President John Browning happily booked his company’s 52,000th appointment. The occasion is a huge milestone for this privately-owned Nashville-based business. Originally known for their specialization in carpet cleaning, Pro-Care has since added a host of services. These include expert oriental & area rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stone and tile care and the application of the best & safest fabric protector on the market. Twenty-five years strong, Pro-Care has come to enjoy a reputation for superior customer service and excellent results throughout Middle Tennessee. But like all small businesses, this company put in years of work to achieve its current success.

It all started with a man and a truck. In 1995, Browning saw there was a need to service the luxury fabrics and rugs specified by designers and residents in the Nashville area. “I realized that I either had to be the best [lone] textile cleaner I could” with only one truck and a dream, “or I had to learn how to run a small business and eventually replace myself” in the field. Looking back now, Browning reflects, “We established the mission and values of the company around 2000. This really helped us during our early years of growth. By attending conferences and having a good mentor, Howard Partridge, I was able to learn the skills and gain the understanding of running a small business.” Smiling, Browning recalls, “To this day I still can hear Howard saying, ‘You should manage your business based on mission, not emotion.’”

Many folks have had a bad service experience. When clients find trustworthy, trained service professionals, they tend to be loyal. John shares, “The reason our service experience is so consistent is the team understands [our company’s] mission statement ‘to provide the most outstanding service experience ever.’” Why does this make a difference? “I truly believe it is the employees’ buy-in of our mission along with the education and training we provide [that sets us apart],” John affirms. “Each employee takes pride in who we are… and they really enjoy working as a team.”

Pro-Care has always been a small, local company but they’ve clearly set themselves apart from others in the Nashville cleaning trade.“A nationwide franchise aims for high volume and low prices,” says Pro-Care marketer, Wendy Morrison, “In contrast, Pro-Care focuses on two things: hiring and training the most responsible, talented employees in the area and building long-term relationships with each family we serve.” Morrison adds, “We love to make our customers happy. We love when they come back to us and when they brag about us to their friends. We are grateful for all their positive testimonials. It is great to work for a company with integrity.”

Browning concludes, “We’re delighted to be celebrating our 52,000th booking.” The Pro-Care team is made up of 15 full-time employees and serves the Greater Nashville Area, from Mt. Juliet to Bellevue, Franklin to Hendersonville and many points in between. Pro-Care would like to thank friends, clients and all its industry partners for their well wishes on this happy occasion.
