-- The Mad O Level English Tutor is at it again, and this time round, it has got nothing to do with the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level English examinations.
Mr Lee Lin Cher, the man who declares himself to be the Mad O Level English Tutor, has just published an online guide as to how and where to find a good tattoo artist in Singapore.
The 53-year-old, who has recently just got his first and second tattoo, has decided to aid those making the monumental decision of getting body art on their bodies, by writing and publishing the online guide.
According to Lee, getting the first piece of body art is a life-changing decision, and the road to that decision is fraught with doubt, uncertainty and a healthy dose of apprehension.
“We really don’t need to add more stress to ourselves, and engaging a good tattoo artist is the logical first step in getting ourselves the body motif we really desire,” Lee quipped.

In the online guide, the educator - who is famed for his wayward ways and unconventional teaching techniques - talks about Bev, the tattoo artist he engaged in getting his first and second tattoo, and how there are three truths that one must contend with when getting a tattoo done.
“The first piece of truth is important because that should be the yardstick that one uses in choosing a body art connoisseur,” Lee commented.
“The second piece of truth is downright disturbing, since it might mean that a man or woman with a new tattoo might not stop at one,” Lee warned.
In Lee’s words, the last piece of truth is the “ultimate”, since it encapsulates the very spirit and essence of getting a tattoo.

Despite his enthusiasm and alacrity for the topic, Lee has to contend with the fact that tattoos are not for everyone.
According to him, tattoos are a big “no-no” for students under 17 years of age, while students from 17 to 20 years of age should seek their parents’ approval before making any life-altering decisions such as these.
“Because at the end of the day, tattoos are not for everyone,” Lee added.
When questioned about who tattoos are meant for, since they are not for everyone, Lee expounded:
“You need to get the calling; and the calling will come in the form of a spontaneous inspiration. Thereafter, it is about the circumstances being ripe for you to heed the calling, including being at the right age.”

Since tattoos are not for everyone, Lee included an addendum to his guide, which includes references to an equally proficient gym and personal trainer.
“Tattoos might not be for everyone, but fitness definitely is. For fitness, you can definitely look for Gaz,” Lee concluded.
About the Lee Lin Cher Website
The Lee Lin Cher Website is the virtual home of Mr Lee Lin Cher, an author, ex-secondary school English teacher and a current tutor of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level English at a local chain of tuition centres.
The Lee Lin Cher Website aims to be the resource site for students sitting for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level English examinations, and would provide the necessary tricks and tips to ace the said examinations.
Labelling himself the ‘Mad O Level English Tutor’, the word “mad” in the name is a clear indicator of Mr Lee’s methods in coaching and inspiring students. Due to his unique background, training and personal belief system, the conventional ways of coaching are - in his eyes - ineffective and a “total waste of time”.
Parents and students who have reservations against wayward and rogue ways of teaching and coaching can give his website a miss.
In addition to expounding on the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O Level English examinations, Mr Lee would also be covering potential topics of interest to the reader, which would include anything from business to internet technologies to whatnots.
