Many of Professional Interview Prep's instructors have served on Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) committees and bring specialist knowledge of what candidates can expect during their interviews. The coaches can deliver training based on the relevant selection board criteria, including F-15, F-16, KC-135, C-17, C-130, and V-22 roles.

The basic criteria for UPT pilot selection include being a US citizen, eligibility for security clearance, high standards of physical fitness and mental health including meeting the medical standards as set out by (IAW) AFI 48-123, meeting the minimum standard or above on the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT) and the Test of Basic Aviation Skills (TBAS). In addition, candidates must not be more than 33 years old, meet minimum height and weight requirements, and possess a qualification from an accredited institution of post-secondary education.

As part of its Military Guard/Reserve Interview Course, Professional Interview Prep coaches UPT hopefuls in effective interview techniques, designed to showcase individuals and their relevant experiences in the best possible light. Using the STAR method - Situation, Task, Action, and Result - candidates are shown how to formulate answers that not only demonstrate their understanding of the question being asked but reveal their situational competence, ability to reflect, and explain the lessons learned, be they positive or negative.

The coaching also helps applicants prepare for questions regarding their leadership skills, their suitability for a UPT role, and their motivation for joining the US Air Force.

In addition, the course covers topics such as avoiding common mistakes, including failing to adequately research the available role, creating a strong impression with physical appearance (clothing and haircut), and the importance of non-verbal communication within an interview setting.

The course includes three to four hours of audio training that can be completed at an enrollee's own pace, a four-hour live interactive webinar comprising best practices and modern interview techniques, and two live mock interviews so that candidates can put their skills into practice in a less pressurized environment.

A spokesperson says, “With unmatched credibility in the military aviation community and a proven track record of success, the program provides comprehensive, personalized coaching that continues until clients are hired — no matter how long it takes.”
