Mecca of Vegetarian Cooking and it’s exotic vegetarian dishes and delights, the exotic creations of owner cum executive chef, Eric Leong, offering a unique, contemporary spin on vegan and vegetarian cuisine, embraces traditional Eastern and Malaysian flavors in a modern way. Blending Malay, Chinese and Indian, the 3 major ethnic race of multi racial Malaysia food traditions with that of Indonesia, Thai, Portuguese and Middle Eastern influences, creates these colorful, exotic, full of enticing flavors, unique and awesome dishes and delights especially when paired with Forbidden City Bistro’s signature lychee flavored martini, “The Drunken Concubine”.
It features healthy and holistic cooking, using fresh organic vegetables sourced from a nearby farm that grows traditional chinese vegetables. These unique creations of Eric Leong namely Zen Delight, Wok-Seared Regimen Vegetables, Five Elements Quinoa, Pad Thai (Northern Malaysian Style), Layered Tofu Cake, Four Season Casserole, FavaBean Ravioli, Soba (Buckerwheat), Noodle Salad, Crispy Potato Chinese Chive Ball are not your typical vegetarian items and are only available at Forbidden City Bistro and it’s Take Out Service. The Fava Bean Ravioli, for example, is a fresh, bright dish prepared with shitake mushrooms, eggplants and snowpeas in a green curry sauce.
Eric Leong, owner cum executive chef, when asked about Mecca Of Vegetarian Cooking commented that Forbidden City Bistro has consistently served the best of Asian and regional Chinese cuisines, bringing exotic and contemporary Asian Fusion cuisine to Middletown since 2005. “Mecca Of Vegetarian Cooking” now adds a new dimension to Forbidden City Bistro’s menu of exotic Asian Fusion cuisine with 15 new vegan and vegetarian dishes.
