Temples Pride, the creator of the Dredge microfiber flat mop has run a comparison cost test associated with mopping the floor using the Swiffer mop system with wet cloth throw away refills and comparing the cost results with that of a microfiber mop with reusable pads. The results show that for the first year, the cost to use the Swiffer system is double that of using a microfiber flat mop. After the first year, the cost of the microfiber mop system is zero while the Swiffer system remains around the same price as the first year due to the need to continuously replace the wet cloth throw away refills.
One of the biggest advantages of using microfiber is the fact that it can be cleaned and used many times over. When comparing that with a disposable type of mop pad, one can quite quickly see the cost savings. When initially starting out though, the cost of a microfiber mop is more than a Swiffer set, however, after some months, the cost of purchasing refills adds up to be more than the microfiber mop and pads.
“The cost savings really kick in after months and even more so after a year,” said Brian from Temples Pride, “We guarantee our pads to sustain hundreds of washes which means users will save for many years to come. There is also the added plus that this method of mopping does not damage the environment by continuously throwing pads away.”
Temples Pride was founded in 2015 with a mission to provide an environmentally friendly & effective microfiber floor mopping system. To further support their mission, they are dedicated to reducing their environmental impact by helping to protect critical forest habitat. For every mop that they sell, they plant 1 tree.
