-- Jon Boyd, Broker of The Home Buyer’s Agent of Ann Arbor, is officially congratulating Andrew Show, the owner of Buyer’s Resource Realty Services in Columbus Ohio for being inducted into the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council Hall of Fame.
The Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council, (REBAC) was founded in 1988 by real estate visionary Barry Miller. As early members of the council both Boyd and Show decided to practice buyer agency in its purest form as exclusive buyer’s agents and they met around that time at national conferences focused on working for and protecting home buyers.
As graduates of the Ohio State University and the University of Michigan respectively, Show and Boyd naturally developed a bit of a rivalry in their relationship and have traded sports related barbs and friendly taunts over many years.
Boyd let his membership in the REBAC organization expire as the organization was merged into the National Association of REALTORS, but Show stayed in the organization where he was recently inducted into their Hall of Fame.
Boyd had previously been inducted in the The Buyer’s Broker Institute’s Hall of Fame.
“Andrew is a great guy and a great advocate for home buyers!” Boyd said. “He may be a bit nutty with that Ohio State background, but for anybody stuck with moving to Columbus would do well to work with him.”
They still spend time together as members of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents, the standard setting group for buyer agency, where they have both participated on the Board of Directors and as the organization’s President.
Show’s company, Buyer’s Resource Realty Services, has made a visible difference in exclusive buyer’s representation in the metro Columbus area and nationally. He has demonstrated that he is a source of knowledge and experience in working with buyers and has shown the highest principles and furtherance of the principles of good ethical practice among REALTORS®.
Up North, Boyd’s company, The Home Buyer’s Agent of Ann Arbor has become the oldest and most successful buyer’s brokerage in that state. He has also demonstrated skills in working to represent and protect home buyers.
Like Boyd and Show, Members of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents (NAEBA) believe there is a better way of working in the real estate industry. NAEBA members voluntarily dedicate their careers to exclusively representing home buyers, providing fiduciary-level duties to protect home-buying consumers.
Exclusive buyer agents are 100 percent loyal to home buyers 100 percent of the time and work at real estate brokerages that never represent home sellers. NAEBA members are true buyer agents.
NAEBA members do not accept listings, advertise properties for sale, or represent home sellers; therefore, its members avoid the conflicts of interest common at traditional real estate companies, which attempt to represent both buyers and sellers in the same transaction.
Consumer advocates created NAEBA in the mid-1990s to fill the void faced by homebuyers and start a professional association that would provide home buyers a higher standard of ethics.
NAEBA also matches home-buying consumers with its members around the country for no additional cost.
