One of the most exciting and exclusive additions early on to the lakefront community was the marina which grew from the original 90 slips to a 110 private slips, all sheltered by a dedicated breakwater in order to protect water crafts from the elements. These private slips ranging from 24′ to 38′ are available to residents of the McKinley Beach community and offer unparalleled convenience for those who enjoy spending summers on the water and don’t want to continually get their boat in and out of the water.
As stated on the McKinley Beach website, “A kilometre of Okanagan beachfront is shared among the waterfront community. Unlike many areas of Kelowna where the lakefront is steep or privatized, McKinley Beach has accessible, swimmable lakefront for all to enjoy.”
While slips are only available to residents of McKinley Beach, the beach itself and the marina are open to the public. The marina office is located at the Beachhouse, located right on the lakefront by the marina entrance. All are welcome to rent stand up paddle boards or kayaks from the office and enjoy some time on the lake and take advantage of the beautiful Okanagan summer.
