The MGA was launched in an effort to ensure patients, recreational consumers, and cultivators of cannabis have access to safe, high quality product. The alliance emphasizes the support of local and craft cannabis cultivators.
A key facet of the MGA’s agenda is ensuring that the state of Maine’s reputation for producing high quality cannabis remains intact. The alliance also raises money for non-profits, in and out of the cannabis industry, including the Wayside Food Program and the Over the Moon Foundation, a medicinal cannabis donation program.
Offering its members access to resources including blogs and weekly newsletters, the alliance provides an open, supportive environment where members can discuss current events in the cannabis industry, potential business endeavors, and share resources with one another.
The Main Growers Alliance is made up of like-minded individuals with an interest in pursuing the advocation of Maine’s continued participation in the medical and recreational cannabis industry.
The MGA prioritizes supporting majority Maine-owned cultivators, minimizing corporate cannabis cultivation, and supporting their members in their cultivation ventures. The MGA strives to include its member’s thoughts and opinions in all of its decision-making. Members have the option of paying their annual dues upfront or in monthly installments.
Membership to the Maine Growers Alliance includes access to the alliance’s wholesale marketplace, all meetings and agendas, participation in networking, a shared knowledge base, and business growth opportunities.
A spokesperson for the Maine Growers Alliance said “Supporting each other in maintaining Maine’s high standards in cannabis cultivation while fighting for grower’s rights and best interests in Augusta will guarantee ongoing prosperity. The more market share we possess as small cultivators, the less large corporate interests can own.”
