Earth Right Mid-Atlantic is a solar and energy efficiency company based out of Lynchburg, Virginia and serving the entire state. They are passionate about educating learners of all ages on the future of electricity and the benefits of solar power, and are committed to providing homeowners with an honest and transparent experience in their transition to solar energy.
Recently, Earth Right Mid-Atlantic was given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to partner with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation to create a hands-on sustainable energy learning experience for all ages.
Chris Higgins, the Lynchburg Parks and Rec Park Facility Services Manager, reached out to Earth Right Mid-Atlantic with the goal of working together to create Lynchburg’s first educational solar facility, and to create an experience that will help educate all ages about solar power and how we are helping the planet by becoming more sustainable. The project is the first part of a new program put in place by Lynchburg City. The project is titled the Sustainable Infrastructure Program. This program is aimed at helping the city become more sustainable as Virginia moves towards its goal of becoming thirty percent energy efficient by 2030.
The solar panel installation project was completed on the cabin in May of 2022. The entire team from Earth Right Mid-Atlantic, as well as the team from Convert Solar, came out to document the event.
Once the solar panel installation was completed on the exterior of the cabin, the interactive display on the interior began to take shape. John Henry, Earth Right Mid-Atlantic’s graphic designer and marketing director, was the cabin’s project manager and brought the interactive display to life, making it fun and educational at the same time. The ribbon cutting took place on June 14th, 2022, and many Lynchburg community members came down to the park to attend the ceremony and view the display.
Chris Higgins of Lynchburg Parks and Recreation opened the ceremony and spoke on the efforts that Lynchburg City is putting forward to make the community more sustainable, and how the new Sustainable Infrastructure Program is the first part of that effort.
Dr. Reid Wodicka, the Deputy Superintendent of Lynchburg City Schools, spoke next on the importance of educating the current generations and generations to come about the importance of caring for our planet and moving forward with sustainable energy.
Finally, Corey Argentino, Earth Right Mid-Atlantic CEO, wrapped up the ceremony by telling the community how thankful Earth Right Mid-Atlantic was to have been a part of this opportunity. He also highlighted how grateful he is that Earth Right Mid-Atlantic will help move Lynchburg into a more sustainable future, and that the company is honored help provide education to current and future generations by learning how they can help the planet through utilizing solar energy.
