-- The global COVID-19 outbreak has affected many industries, disrupting everyday operations and creating a stronger reliance on digital networks and communications. Now, as an increasing number of sectors are being given the green light to implement a phased reopening plan, one experienced search engine marketing consultant is joining forces with a new digital initiative to offer free advice during the recovery period, helping local businesses to adapt to changing needs and expectations under the new normal.
Graham Baylis of Hereford-based Serendipity Online Marketing is offering expert advice and guidance, free of charge, to local businesses under the new Digital Boost scheme. Digital Boost, a joint programme launched by BCG Digital Ventures and Founders4Schools, is an online network of volunteers providing free business advice to small organisations, startup enterprises, and charities that have been affected by the pandemic. The aim of the programme is to build confidence amongst small and emerging firms, enabling them to embrace technology and leverage the power of digital as part of a recovery process.
“I am so pleased to be accepted as a volunteer for Digital Boost, and hope to use my 20 years of experience in the field of search engine marketing to give some free help to local businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire,” says Graham Baylis, who founded Serendipity Online Marketing in 2008. “Now, more than ever, we need to come together to support each other to grow, develop, and thrive.”
The COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent social distancing measures have forced more businesses to move online and create a strong digital presence, diversifying to reduce reliance on brick-and-mortar operations and face-to-face interactions. However, the speed with which changes were implemented, particularly in the United Kingdom, did not allow for businesses to fully prepare for the shift. Together, Serendipity’s Graham Baylis, along with other Digital Boost volunteers, hope to make it easy for organisations to build the digital skills they need to not only survive the crisis but to emerge strongly on the other side.
Through the new Digital Boost scheme, Graham Baylis has become the programme’s search engine marketing and SEO expert for local businesses across Worcestershire and Hertfordshire. The SearchEngineNews SEO-certified marketing consultant has been working in digital since 1994, having played an instrumental role in the implementation of one of the UK’s first intranet networks. In more recent years, Graham Baylis has helped UK businesses to develop strategic pay-per-click campaigns, optimise their organic search strategies, and conduct valuable competitor research to determine the most effective approaches to online marketing.
