Holiday shoppers are out in droves, but not all local businesses are benefiting from the surge in buying, says an expert on local marketing.
“So many people are out there right now picking up those last minute gifts, and for the most part, it’s too late to buy them online,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, an online local business directory that offers business owners a free way to have an effective online presence. “That means they’ll be trying to find US local businesses to spend their money in. The problem is, they’ll look online to find those stores, and many local business owners don’t yet have an online presence.”
He’s right. The latest studies show that the majority of today’s consumers use their smartphones, tablets, and laptops too find local businesses, and then visit them after reading the online reviews for the business and getting their pertinent information such as the address and phone number.
“It only takes a few minutes to create a local business listing on a local business directory. Just log onto the local directory and fill in the required details about the store. Then, consumers will be able to find the business and that will result in more foot traffic.”
There are only a few shopping days left before Christmas, and smart local business owners should do all they can to ensure the holiday shoppers can find their business.
