Marah Hamilton has joined Kay Plumbing Services as its new business manager in May 2018. With eleven years of experience in customer service and security in the retail sector, she has the expertise needed to help Kay Plumbing as it grows its staff and expands its services in the Columbia, SC metro area. Prior to joining Kay Plumbing, Marah was employed in mall retail and security. Her eleven years of serving customers in person and as a mall security officer give her the experience she needs to provide Kay’s customers with top-notch personal service. This is important because more and more customers are coming in to Kay’s office to see their new showroom, which has been launched earlier this year.
The gallery showcases the smartest trends in decorative plumbing and hardware. “We encourage our customers to come into the office and have a look around. There’s a water filter where they can try the filtered water, a tankless water heater and other plumbing hardware on display,” said Marah.

Among the new responsibilities Marah is expected to handle, one of the main challenges includes finding skilled plumbers. Kay Plumbing is always seeking quality plumbers who can match the skills of its current plumbing staff, which hasn’t been easy. Marah’s proficiency at reading applicants’ body language and facial expressions will be a plus when it comes to hiring people who are the right fit for Kay Plumbing long term.
Another challenge Marah faces includes making the shift from customer service representative to office manager. This includes getting authorized to implement the Simple IRA system and having the office function optimally.
Finally, as the mother of four children who range in age from eight months to seven years, Marah will have to manage business and home life. Fortunately, owner Konrad understands that family responsibilities are important when there’s an emergency. “Bigger companies usually don’t understand when you just have to take care of matters at home, but Konrad does. I’m happy to say that of all the jobs I had, he’s the best boss I ever worked for. I’m extremely grateful, and I’d like to add that I’m a quick learner and can teach myself the office systems. Konrad can depend on me to take good care of Kay’s business matters,” said Marah.
