Today s BBQ Catering in San Diego Company, Abbey s Real Texas BBQ, was founded by Matt Shlemon who traveled to Texas in search of real, authentic barbecue in order to bring that real flavor to San Diego. Mr. Shlemon has been serving the San Diego area since he founded the restaurant in 1987. He named the restaurant after his oldest daughter, Abbey. It started as a family owned restaurant and to this day continues to be a family owned and operated restaurant.
