Lanham MD Support Broker | Self-Directed Development Disability Service Launched

Share this news:

Lanham-based Community Health and Education Services LLC has expanded its offerings for the beneficiaries of the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

The latest update is aimed at persons with disabilities enrolled in the DDA’s Self-Directed Services (SDS) program, a delivery option that gives them more control over the type of assistance they receive. Community Health and Education Services now offers these individuals the expertise of qualified Support Brokers, who can help them maximize the support provided by the agency.

Support Brokers are valuable allies in establishing Self-Directed Services for disability support. The reason for this is their in-depth knowledge of and experience with the particular services that are useful to SDS beneficiaries.

The company delivers quality developmental disability support services backed by decades of field experience. Its Support Brokers can collaborate with the Coordinator of Community Services in budgeting and assist the beneficiary in understanding the PCP (Person-Centered Plan), which is used in identifying and organizing the appropriate services.

In addition, they can aid in hiring support staff, obtaining essential equipment, identifying helpful programs that can improve one’s quality of life, and more.

Further, Support Brokers can help clients get in touch with key actors in the DDA and the Fiscal Management Services, among others.

Families are not required to shoulder any expense, as the DDA covers all costs, including Support Broker fees.
