Recent research from The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) found that Australian wineries can save up to 40% on their energy bills by switching to solar power, making it a highly attractive option for reducing operational costs and improving sustainability. The shift is particularly important in the face of rising electricity prices and the pressure of reporting carbon footprints due to new regulations, such as the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGER).
One of P4B Solar's standout projects in this area is their work with Bremerton Wines. Despite encountering challenges with their previous solar installation from a different company, P4B Solar was able to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the winery’s energy needs were fully met.
A 39.6 kW system was installed, featuring 144 Jinko Solar 275W modules and SolarEdge optimisers. This system now provides Bremerton Wines with substantial energy savings, enhanced energy security, and greater independence from the grid. The system has an expected return on investment (ROI) of just three years.
“We are thrilled to support Bremerton Wines with a reliable, efficient solar solution that helps reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint,” said a spokesperson for P4B Solar. “The installation is a great example of how we can identify and solve issues for Langhorne Creek wineries that others may not be able to, ensuring our clients get the most out of their solar investment. We look forward to helping more wineries in the region transition to solar power.”
The company adds that the integration of solar with battery storage systems helps wineries stay compliant with the upcoming NGER regulations, which include scope 2 emissions for businesses.
P4B Solar is also helping clients take advantage of Australian government incentives for commercial solar systems. These incentives significantly reduce the initial investment required for solar panel installations, allowing wineries and other businesses to enjoy the benefits of solar energy sooner.
