-- Epic Sports Marketing has announced registration for the 19th Annual Snooze Mattress & Wellness Lake Norman Turkey Trot Half Marathon, scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025. The event stands as the only half-marathon race within 150 miles of Charlotte taking place on Thanksgiving Day.

The race offers three distance options, including a 13.1-mile half marathon starting at 7:30 AM, a 10K beginning at 7:35 AM, and a 5K starting at 7:40 AM. All races begin and finish at Life Fellowship Church, located at 20010 Chartown Dr in Cornelius, North Carolina. Virtual participation options of any distance are also available for runners who are unable to attend in person.
Registration includes race swag featuring what organizers call "the best finisher medal in North Carolina," along with tech t-shirts, cups, beanies, and hoodies for half marathon participants. Awards recognize the top three male and female finishers overall and within age groups for each distance.
"We're proud to offer runners in Charlotte the opportunity to participate in a half marathon on Thanksgiving morning," said a spokesperson for Epic Sports Marketing. "This gives families a chance to earn their turkey dinner while supporting our local community through food donations."
The event supports the Human Health Project, which provides grants and donates non-perishable food items to local food shelters. Race organizers encourage all participants to bring non-perishable food donations during registration.
Early registration pricing begins in September with increases on the first of each month leading up to the race. Packet pickup occurs at Charlotte Running Company in Mooresville on November 24th and at the race venue on November 26th and race morning.
The half marathon course consists of two loops on asphalt roads and is currently undergoing certification. Course cutoff time is set at 11:15 AM, allowing participants 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete the distance. The race serves as the third event in the 2025 Vibe-X Lake Norman Half Marathon Series.
