-- Artist Reception for “In Your Dreams” at La Quinta Museum
LA QUINTA, CA — The La Quinta Museum will host an artist reception on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 5 to 7 p.m. for "In Your Dreams," an exhibit featuring 50 local artists exploring the boundary between imagination and reality.
The exhibit invites visitors to reflect on the nature of dreaming. Each artwork offers a personal interpretation of the theme, drawing on memory, fantasy, the subconscious, and aspiration. Together, the works present a wide range of perspectives on what it means to dream.
A standout highlight of the exhibition is Clara Berta’s featured abstract work, May Gold Dreams Grow. This abstract work is an exploration of the subconscious landscape where deepest aspirations are rooted. It challenges the viewer to look beyond the transient and locate a source of enduring value within the chaos of daily life.
The painting's tactile quality is emphasized by the choice of materials: Earth Pigments of various colors were used, grounding the piece in the natural world and giving it a raw, textural honesty. This elemental connection underscores the central form of the tree, a powerful archetype for growth, resilience, and the connection between the earth and the heavens. The tree emerges not literally, but as a spiritual scaffolding upon which future potential is built.
The radiant use of gold pigment is a deliberate choice, symbolizing not mere material wealth, but the precious, non-negotiable value of the self and the dignity of one’s personal vision. The gold is integrated to represent the potential for abundance that lies latent within every intention and dream. It catches the light, reflecting the dynamic nature of hope itself and elevating the earthy tones.
Through layers of pigment and deliberate, textured application, the painting manifests the inner struggle and eventual triumph that accompany any significant personal growth. It is an affirmation that when visions nurtured, they don't just survive—they grow into something magnificent and gilded with success. The work serves as a wish, a prayer, and a declaration for the viewer to embrace the precious dreams they hold.
"In Your Dreams" is on view at La Quinta Museum through February 28, 2026. The reception is free and open to the public, offering a chance to meet the artists and engage with the local creative community.
