Keith Urban Adds New Dates to RipCORD Summer Tour in Underserved Markets

The three new tour stops announced for the Keith Urban summer tour are in cities where the country superstar has not played live for more than 10 years. Urban tickets for these shows are going fast.

Keith Urban will be exploring new horizons in his recently announced ripCORD summer concert tour, publicists say. The tour schedule has been revamped to include three more stops, each of them in cities that have not set eyes on the country superstar since at least 2005. Keith Urban tickets for selected markets went on sale January 29. The singer promises more dates to be added in the weeks to come, including some overseas dates and more shows in cities where he has never headlined before.

The ripCORD summer tour is scheduled to coincide with the release of Urban’s as yet unfinished album, ripCORD, and is already set to include at least five cities that have never seen a show headlined by Keith Urban. Those cities include Youngstown, OH, Myrtle Beach, SC, Lincoln NB, and the newly added August 5 date in Pocatello, ID. In addition, many of the scheduled shows are at venues where Urban hasn’t played in years, including the October 7 show in Sioux City, IA.

The tour kicks off June 2 with an appearance at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Kansas City, MO and continues through November 19. Many of Urban’s summer dates are included as part of the Country Megaticket, but the singer will also be touring separately from the Megaticket tour. He will be joined by country openers Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris. It’s the largest, most elaborate Urban concert outing to date, encompassing 49 cities in the U.S. with shows in Australia and Canada promised.

The not-yet-released ripCORD album has already spawned two singles, including the Grammy-nominated “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16.” The second single, “Break on Me,” has already climbed into the top 10 on the country charts, becoming Urban’s 35th Top 10 country song.

“Fans who loved Urban’s 2014 Light the Fuse tour are lining up for Keith Urban tickets,” a local industry insider said. “The upcoming ripCORD tour features the same production designer, Roy Bennet, who has a reputation for building on success without repeating himself.”

While tickets for some of the later dates haven’t been released to the general public yet, fans can still find Keith Urban ripCORD tickets on the secondary online ticket market, thanks to early VIP ticket releases and other special access ticket holders.
