-- Irving’s new entertainment megaplex, The Music Factory, recently broke ground, and continues to announce a lineup of dynamic and interesting tenants. Kabuki, a Japanese restaurant chain will open their new joint at the complex in mid-2016. It will be a casual dining place with over 200 dishes, including authentic Japanese options and modern innovative items. Unlike most Japanese restaurants which overwhelm their guests with Asian art and music, Kabuki is known to provide a friendly ambience by playing trending music and serving the finest quality Japanese food.
Kabuki Restaurants is already located in seventeen different places spread over California, Arizona and Nevada. Their upcoming restaurant which occupies 6,000 sq. ft. at the Music Factory will be their first in Texas. Hannah Grabe, Kabuki marketing manager, excitedly admits that their CEO has wanted to expand into Texas for a long time, but waited for the right project. He adds that they finally zeroed in on the Music Factory as it brought together a dynamic and innovative group of tenants.
This Japanese restaurant features an expansive menu carefully designed by Masa Kurihara, the brand’s executive corporate chef. It includes sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi grill dishes, noodle dishes and signature seafood plates such as the Chilean Sea Bass. The menu also includes plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. Kurihara, an alumnus of the prestigious Tokyo Culinary School, was once the cook for the Japanese Ambassador of the United States. He personally trains young cooks within the Kabuki organization. He perfectly blends Japanese cuisine with classic Western cooking techniques to create innovative fusion dishes that are included in the restaurant’s menu.
Grabe explains that Kabuki is a family-friendly restaurant. However, it will have something for everyone including the adult crowds and sake bomb lovers. The beverage menu was prepared under the supervision of Yuji Matsumoto, the Beverage Manager, who holds the honor of being the first Master Sake Sommelier in North America, and still, only one of two. The drink menu is largely sake-centric and includes Kabuki’s famous Mint Sakerita and TY KU Coco Saketini, which will be available throughout the restaurant and in the separate sake bar.
Kabuki has plans to open their restaurant in mid-2016 when the mall becomes fully operational. Grabe says that Kabuki management is looking forward to expanding into Texas. Apart from Kabuki, the Music Factory has plenty of entertainment and dining options for people in Irving. They recently announced their first restaurant, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine. Gloria’s is already famous for serving tasty South American dishes in another 12 locations.
Located between Las Colinas Boulevard and the U.S. Highway 114, the Music Factory lies towards the north of O’Connor and is adjacent to the Irving Convention Center. It can be accessed from anywhere in Irving by the DART Orange Line. The $165 million megaplex features a concert venue by Live Nation that will have a capacity of 8,000 seats. For movie lovers, there will be an 8-screen Alfamo Drafthouse Cinema. There are also plans for a 50,000 sq. ft. outdoor plaza for events such as food festivals and fashion shows. Additionally, 100,000 square feet is allocated to office space.
