Joe Schwartz Spa World, leading Miami-based manufacturer of bath products including Joe Schwartz walkin tubs, collaborated with top designers in the South Florida area in order to reveal how to update the all-important bathroom this year, going on to share top bathroom trends to keep on the radar in 2019 with customers.
--“A great way to enhance any home, especially one in beautiful South Florida, is through simple renovations that go the distance,” explains Schwartz. “Before one begins sprucing up the home, it’s important to consider the spaces that are used most – and while the bathroom is indeed a functional spot, that doesn’t mean it can’t make a statement with design.”
On the top of Joe Schwartz Meditub walkin tubs’ list is making big impressions in small spaces, with intimate areas like powder rooms excelling as a canvas for a singular, splashy statement. A high-contrast, large-scale wallpaper in this instance, says Schwartz, expands a small space and infuses it with an “artful attitude.”
Next, Schwartz and the designers he collaborated with suggest using a neutral palette in the bathroom to keep it feeling modern; here, the use of a monochromatic element throughout the entire space is effective, such as using all of one color or material – the color green or perhaps an all-marble tile. “Classic tile and motifs can be incorporated too, but using all of one material creates a fun ‘jewel box-like’ look to the space,” adds Joseph Schwartz.
In addition to these top tips, Schwartz, based on input from the designers he worked with, recommends bold black bathrooms, exposed shower plumbing, pewter and gunmetal hardware, vanities in front of windows, open-concept designs, statement walls in powder rooms, statement art, white and grey marble, spa-like designs, marble slabs and hidden drains, infrared saunas, concrete and art deco influences.
