The twelve-day immersion training will be hosted at Esalen Institute, in California, and provides an opportunity to learn more about how Integrative Gestalt™ and breathwork can be fused as part of professional practice or personal development.
While the benefits of mindfulness and conscious breathwork have been recognized for centuries by cultures around the world, a recent study published by Scientific Reports shows that these positive effects can be independently verified, with data indicating that deliberate control of the breath helps to lower markers of stress and anxiety. As international teachers and leaders in the Gestalt field, Perry and Johanna Holloman are facilitating the March 2025 training workshop as an opportunity for individuals to dig deeper into these powerful modalities.
“Today, science is validating the profound impact of breathwork and embodied awareness on stress management and immune resilience,” they explain. “Integrative Gestalt™ offers a powerful tool to support self-inquiry, helping us understand and metabolize our experiences as we journey together into realms of altered consciousness through breath.”
The training includes opportunities to use breathwork alongside body awareness and the use of educated, attuned touch while working in groups or with individuals. Longer Hologenic™ Connected Breathwork sessions will help participants to go deeper into altered states of consciousness, and will be complemented by shorter, 50-minute sessions each morning. “Breath is a force, a medicine, and a gateway to the unconscious mind and the very essence of our being,” say the Hollomans.
Throughout the 12 days, individuals will be supported as they cultivate “presence-based consciousness” within a framework of Integrative Gestalt™. The breathwork and Gestalt techniques used throughout the event can be used to address trauma and support each person’s innate ability to self-organize and heal.
Suitable for any individual committed to deepening self-inquiry, as well as professionals looking to expand their practices, the Integrative Gestalt™ and Hologenic™ Connected Breathwork Immersion Training has been designed to facilitate spiritual growth and personal healing at a transformative level.
