FindUSLocal, a business directory that specializes in local business listings, just announced that they are launching an initiative to educate business owners on the merits of listing their businesses on local directories.
“If more business owners understand how impactful local business directories could be on the success of their business, more would do it. And that’s our goal—to get the word out about how local businesses can be seen by customers looking for services like theirs in the area.”
And some major digital advertising agencies agree. In fact, Amplified’s sales operations manager Michelle Skadal says, “When the weather changes or big news happens, people go to the local news website. By putting a business’ information, branding and specials there, it places them in front of the largest local audience.” The digital agency says it uses local directories as the main product to help raise awareness for small businesses that don’t otherwise have an online presence.
“We invite local business owners to tour our website,” says the spokesman from FindUsLocal. “And remember, we use GEO tracking technology, so no matter where a visitor logs onto the site from, local information, news, and business listings will show up for that area.”
And local business directories aren’t just beneficial for business owners. “Local customers can come to our site and in one place find information about the weather, events, popular tweets, and news in their area, in addition to the ability to find local businesses that have listed on our site. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
About FindUsLocal: FindUsLocal uses geolocation technology in visitor’s browsers to construct a home page focused on their city, town or community. Right there on the front page, they’ll find local weather, sports results for their favorite teams, and announcements of the top musical acts and events coming to their city. Smart business owners list their businesses on the site to be seen by those who are specifically looking for businesses in their local area.
