On November 8 this year Ms Swanson was invited to give a talk to stroke patients at a local hospital. During her schooling Ms Swanson was an intern at the California Pacific Medical Center’s stroke rehabilitation department, and she has been treating patients at all stages of stroke since graduating from the Acupuncture Integrative Medicine College in Berkley and being made a licensed practitioner in 2008.
Ms Swanson stated that stroke patients make a remarkable improvement when they receive consistent acupuncture therapy along with making some lifestyle adjustments. After completing her talk in November 2019 to stroke patients at the Sierra Nevada Memorial hospital, Ms Swanson was approached by a traumatic brain Specialist, and she accepted the invitation to speak to their group in Spring 2020.
With the launch of this new program of talks for the health sector, Ms Swanson plans to conduct further presentations about the benefits of acupuncture, and other natural medicine techniques and modalities that she practices, to groups at health institutions in California over the year ahead.
Ms Swanson learned from Dr Richard Tan and practices the Balance Method which was derived from the I Ching over 2500 years ago. Ms Swanson stated that the Balance Method is different to most local point acupuncture practiced in the United States, because it is more gentle and comfortable for patients and delivers consistent results.
Dharma Acupuncture offers medical acupuncture treatments that include pulse diagnosis, cupping, moxibustion, traditional Chinese medicine, along with a range of other oriental medicine techniques. Ms Swanson reported that her program of speaking engagements is important for her community because all these treatments have many benefits for several health conditions.
Acupuncture and traditional oriental medicine treatments can support and treat health challenges such as stroke, brain injury, cancer, pain relief, fertility and preparedness for pregnancy and labor. Raising and spreading awareness of the many ways that acupuncture can treat health conditions is the primary goal of the program of speaking presentations. launched by Dharma Acupuncture in California.
