This week The High School Highlight profile North’sjunior fullback/linebacker Isreal Araiza. Isreal is in his first year of varsity football and is already making an impact for the Mustangs. Araiza has been playing football since he was 6 years old and even played for Team USA’s 15 and under team. Isreal is a warrior on the field and just as impressive in the classroom. Isreal has a 3.4 GPA and plans to go to college to get into sports marketing and training.
This young man also inspires to play football in college. At just a junior he has already visited a few college campus’ which include an unofficial visit to NAU and is drawing interest from several D2 as well as D3 colleges. Araiza has goals of helping North turn in to a football school by being a leader both on and off of the football field. Isreal’s goal for this season is to average 12 tackles a game, a goal that is very reachable for the young man. Araiza has always wanted to play football and tells a story being 4 years old at his sisters cheer practice and crying because Isreal was too young to play. Isreal’s dad had coached him since he started playing tackle football from the young age of 6, so football is a lifestyle to him as studying game film and working outside of football practice has become habitual for the Junior linebacker.
Araiza’s parents recently moved back to Central Phoenix to help care for Isreal’s grandmother, so attending North High School is much like coming back to his family roots where his aunt and uncle graduated in 2011. Araiza is a perfect example of a kid whose love for something has spilled over to other parts of life and has made him an impressive young man. Araiza is a kid that will be turn into a player to watch and will be working to be the best linebacker he can possibly be in 2016.
