Farmington NM San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament Announced

The San Juan Country Club, Farmington NM announced the opening of the 2017 San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament seeks to raise $20,000 to benefit The Boys & Girls Club of Farmington and The First Tee of San Juan County.


The San Juan Country Club announced the launch of the 2017 San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament, its marquee international tournament. This international charity golf tournament is open to professionals and amateurs who will compete across 7 days. Charity donations will benefit two organizations in Farmington, NM.

Over the last 6 years, proceeds of the San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament have been used to enrich the local community by donations to some of Farmington’s charitable organizations. Donations by the club have totaled more than $130,000 and the tournament is widely regarded as the starting point of many professionals on the PGA Tour.


The tournament is scheduled to commence on the 19th of June, 2017 with the Pro Sponsor Pick followed by six days of exhilarating golfing action. The final round of the tournament is scheduled for the 25th of June. The San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament features a winner’s purse ranging from $10,000 to $14,000.


Tournament entry fees are $500 for amateurs and $850 for professionals. The fee covers the tournament registration, social events at the clubhouse and on the course, breakfast, lunch, and beverages, as well as access to golf carts, the San Juan Country Club range, and a first tee gift.


The San Juan Country Club Farmington NM, reports that professional and amateur golfers from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah are expected compete at the prestigious event.


According to a spokesperson for the San Juan Country Club, “In keeping with the club’s rich tradition of aiding the work of local charities, proceeds from the San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament will be donated to The Boys & Girls Club of Farmington and The First Tee of San Juan County. The tournament is expected to host 80 professionals and raise $20,000 to support these deserving charities.”


Commenced in 1964, the San Juan Open Charity Golf Tournament is a premier professional and amateur tournament played on the challenging 18-hole course at the San Juan Country Club.
