Exploring the FAU Sandbox is pre-launch opportunity for teenagers to learn about an exciting new program that was meticulously designed to provide an opportunity for high school students to learn, develop and apply the skills necessary to build an experience-rich work portfolio that stands above and beyond their peers when applying to college or for technology positions. Students will learn in a brand new, state-of-the-art technology sandbox that provides the quintessential backdrop for tomorrow’s technology leaders to learn the skills as high school students beginning their technology journey. Training centers around technology and media.

Having a home schooled teenager, Teen Tech Lab founder and CEO, Eric Herman and his wife Kerri, grew frustrated with the traditional education their son, Shane, was receiving. Not being able to find the combination of safe social interaction, technology, media, training and collaborative education, the Herman’s created Teen Tech Lab.

Teen Tech Lab has partnered with the FAU Sandbox to provide an opportunity for Boca Raton area high school students, whether home schooled or in traditional high schools, to come together and explore all the advanced technologies the Sandbox has to offer. “Our goal is for these teenagers to form lasting relationships while developing the skills they’ll need to compete in the workforce,” says Mr Herman.

Teen Tech Lab provides career building technology and media training for teens. Teens will have an opportunity to work together on projects they create, learn about AI mapping and pose cameras, AI detection, AI emotion detectors, holograms, ALife and AI computer driven microscopes.

The Lab’s media center will provide hands on training in social media marketing, podcasting, green screen video and digital magazine development.

“Exploring The FAU Sandbox” is a one-time, free event, being held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 7 to 9 pm. Interested students and their parents will need to R.S.V.P. in advance.
