“Black Friday is the day that most local businesses wait for,” says a spokesman from FindUsLocal.com, an online local business directory that provides free advertising for local shop owners. “Unfortunately, the local shop owners who still use old-school tactics to draw in customers won’t bring in as much business as they hope to. But if they change just one thing in their local marketing advertising efforts, they will see more customers walk through the doors on Black Friday..”
He’s talking about business owners who don’t list their business on local business directories. Studies show that almost 100 percent of shoppers use local business directories to find local shops and restaurants. “Knowing those statistics,” he says, “It only makes sense that everyone who owns a local business would create a free local business listing.”
But he says that a huge majority of shop owners don’t understand the importance. “They still believe they can have hugely profitable Black Friday sales by using the old school advertising tactics,” he says. “But sadly, they quickly learn that’s just not true.”
He recommends that every local shop, business, or restaurant owner goes to FindUsLocal.com and creates a free local business listing.
