The Itty Bitty Art Market has launched a new display called A Fundraiser of Mini Masterpieces, featuring artwork and designs by children’s author and artist Laura Ceville. The display started at the beginning of December and will last until January 20, with the exhibit raising funds for the Preble County Art Association for the Visual Art Center.
More information on Laura Ceville’s designs can be found at: http://society6.com/CevilleDesigns.
One of the rules of the exhibit is that every piece of art has to be handmade. It is a winter market and fundraiser for artists to sell their wares, and as it is based on mini masterpieces, each piece of work can be no longer than twelve inches in any direction. All proceeds will go toward the PCAA’s education and outreach programming.
Laura Ceville is an Air Force veteran and children’s author and illustrator, and published her first book in 2013. Called My Dog, Jack, it features heartwarming illustrations, and she has since published four Kindle books, all available on Amazon. Laura is currently the Vice President of The Brubaker Company, a mortgage and retirement protection company based out of Eaton, Ohio.
She has been creating art and writing children’s stories since she was a young girl, and loves trying out new mediums and seeing where her creativity takes her. Laura explains that some of the pieces in the exhibition that she is most excited about are her Tiny Inspirations matchboxes, which make use of a variety of techniques.
Hand stained, distressed and painted papers were used, with black stitching, washi tape, colored twine and patterned duct tape. Each box comes with a journal or set of prompt cards, with two types of journal available.
Some of Laura’s other designs are available to browse and purchase on her Society6 page at the link above, with categories including phone cases and framed or unframed prints.
