Ariga’s favorite service is cosmetic work. She says it’s because ‘when you finish, even a small bonding procedure, it makes a huge difference for the patient. We’ve had brides come in before their wedding day, even with a simple teeth whitening, you just see their faces light up. Most patients come in wanting veneers, but all they need is a simple whitening procedure to enhance their smile. That means the world to me that one little simple thing, the difference on someone’s wedding day or graduation or prom’.
She likes to educate her patients, and to prevent rather than cure. Usually of course, the cure comes first but a good dentist will help the person prevent and reduce their need for expensive dental treatments in the future. A lot of people delay their dental treatment and end up with teeth not as white because of food, coffee, or smoking. Cosmetic dentistry is to make a smile beautiful again and to make the person more confident.
Dr Ariga Abrahamian and her team at Palm Dental Studio Burbank CA, concentrate on preventative dentistry and education. They don’t want to just fix the cavities, but also prevent more through oral health education. Dr. Ariga adds that they’re ‘a small boutique office so we treat everyone like family’.
Palm Dental Studio was opened just October 2019 and then the pandemic hit and they had to close for a couple of months. Add to that, Dr. Ariga was pregnant, (Mom and Baby are both now doing well).
But she says ‘we got really lucky with our patients, our community, everyone has been so amazing, supportive and patient. I want to look back and say we got through this together’.
Dr. Ariga has always been very strict on infection control. But patients will notice a few changes. They have new protocols and guidelines set in place. Some of these changes include increased personal protective equipment for every staff member, patients will be screened for COVID-19 and asked to come in with face coverings, they have air filtration to help with aerosols. They’ll only schedule one patient at a time which will mean less patients, but each patients will get VIP treatment.
