In exciting news, vintage rug store “District Rug Shoppe,” headquartered in Washington, D.C., is celebrating the launch of its new online website. District Rug Shoppe offers a curated selection of vintage and antique oriental rugs and runners, and specializes in Persian and Turkish styles. With this website launch, the store will expand its offerings to include an online vintage inventory and custom sourcing services for interior designers and home owners. The launch occurred on January 13, 2020.
When asked what prompted her to form District Rug Shoppe, Georgia H., the Owner and Founder, explained: “I founded District Rug Shoppe to make sophisticated and storied vintage textiles more accessible to interior designers and design-minded homeowners living in Washington D.C., northern Virginia, and Maryland. I spent years looking for heirloom-quality rugs that would suite my modern home. No stores in Washington had what I was looking for – I wanted a worn and relaxed look, not those formal rugs in your grandmother’s house! Eventually, I developed a network of trusted suppliers, and set up my own store so others wouldn’t have to struggle like I did to find the look they love.”
After only a few months of operations, District Rug Shoppe experienced enough interest locally and beyond to invest in a totally new digital experience. “We are so excited to launch a website designed to serve the needs of our customers. Doing so will let us to keep our prices as low as possible, scale our inventory, and offer more customized services to our customers. Even if we don’t have the perfect rug in stock, customers can now submit a form describing their needs, and we can source a rug specifically for them, at no additional cost. We are extremely pleased to provide this kind of individualized service. We’re going to deliver incredible value!”
