DashTech App Helps Keep Caltrans’ SAC 5 Corridor Enhancement Project On Track

Caltrans is leveraging its partnership with the GLA to deploy DashTech, a Capitol Tech Solutions product, at SAC 5 Corridor Enhancement Project sites as ongoing work forces partial road closures along I-5. DashTech allows users to track construction metrics and mitigate risks in real-time.

-- Motorists can expect traffic delays on weekends this summer as Caltrans partially closes southbound I-5 for around-the-clock work on the SAC 5 Corridor Enhancement Project.

But DashTech, a construction partnering application developed by Capitol Tech Solutions, keeps the state transportation agency, the Construction Contractor, and involved stakeholders tracking the project on schedule for completing the corridor by December 2022.

DashTech allows project team members to track metrics and mitigate risks in real-time. DashTech’s dashboard allows the construction partnering facilitator, Global Leadership Alliance (GLA), to monitor multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring construction runs smoothly and, in turn, preventing potential conflicts or disputes on projects while capturing innovations and efficiencies.

The lofty mission of GLA is to eradicate arbitration and litigation from the construction industry.

“DashTech is the only application that was able to fully understand the needs of our construction projects and provide a dashboard measuring the key priorities of these projects,” said GLA CEO Sam Hassoun. “I cannot imagine GLA or their clients working on any construction project without the partnering tools DashTech provides.”

The SAC 5 Corridor Enhancement Project broke ground in July 2019. Caltrans crews will rehabilitate pavement, construct new carpool lanes, replace a pedestrian overcrossing, construct sound walls, install new fiber-optic lines, put in place new ramp meters, and extend entrance and exit ramps along a 1.1-mile stretch of I-5 from the Elk Grove Blvd. overcrossing to the American River Bridge in Sacramento County.

According to Caltrans, the ongoing work is part of a $370 million project to rehabilitate 67-lane miles of roadway, build 23 miles of carpool lanes, and improve electrical and drainage systems along the SAC 5 Corridor.

About DashTech

DashTech is a construction partnering application developed by Capitol Tech Solutions and used by construction facilitators and stakeholders on operations in California. The application ensures projects get completed on time and on budget.

DashTech sends out evaluations to all project team members and then displays a dashboard of the results, allowing project leads to quickly identify issues in the field and resolve those issues before they affect the project negatively.
