Cracks Contracting initially stabilised the ground using a resin injection techniqe, followed by resin injection repairs in the channel floor and walls. Varying guages and levels of reinforcing steel were added with lateral dowelling into walls. The channel floor was corrected to original falls with a polymer modified repair mortar. From zero to 250 mm. over the whole length of the channel. Using current laser technology a precise fall was established to provide the correct flow rate for the plant. Shutters were set to produce an increase in height of the walls parallel to the floor.
