HOLLYWOOD, CA – March 14, 2015 -The Jimmy Buffet Workin’ and Playin’ tour will hit even more cities this summer, announced online ticket broker ConcertBank.com on Saturday. The newly announced dates include much-anticipated shows in such iconic stadiums as the Hollywood Bowl, the New Orleans Fairgrounds and the XFinity Center in Mansfield, MA.
The Jimmy Buffet 2015 tour Workin’ and Playin’ celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of Buffett’s only number one album, and is in support of the perennial pirate’s most recent album, Songs from St. Nowhere. The 1975 album, A-1-A, has the distinction of becoming Buffett’s first Top 40 chartbuster, despite not producing a single number one hit. A-1-A does feature one of Buffettís most enduring crowd favorites, “A Pirate Looks at 40.”
The latest added dates brought the total of 2015 Jimmy Buffett concerts to 18, but the Coral Reefers are notorious for adding dates in batches as they go. This particular batch of additions, however, includes several big-name venues and events, including the three-day jazz festival at the New Orleans Fairgrounds, and a one-night date at the Hollywood Bowl. The October Jimmy Buffett show at the Hollywood Bowl will mark the entertainer’s first show in the iconic amphitheater since 1997.
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band are eagerly anticipated at many stops along the concert tour. Parrotheads in many states look forward to the 68-year-old artistís return to long-time concert venues. All-day tailgate parties are a fixture at Frisco, Texas Jimmy Buffet shows, for example, as well as at many other venues.
Buffett boasts a devoted band of followers, so it’s not unusual for Buffett tickets to sell out well in advance of the day. Venues that include tailgating parties and other inducements tend to sell out even faster. His homecoming performance at The Wharf sold out within 90 minutes.
